In these cloud forests you can go bird watching, horseback riding, and hiking, take a rainforest canopy tour, a skywalk tour, visit a butterfly farm and a hummingbird gallery and take in a wide variety of music festivals and art galleries. Cloud Forests are spectacular experiences and must be made a part of every Costa Rico vacation.
Cano Island Biological Reserve
The Cano Island Biological Reserve is a must see on your Costa Rico Vacation. This reserve is located ten miles off the coast of Costa Rica and is one of the best places in the world to go snorkeling or diving. This area is a fully protected area and there are all sorts of fantastic marine animals that live in its reefs. Visitors to these reefs will be able to see reef sharks, sea snakes, schools of jacks, whale sharks, and mantas. When you go back to the mainland of Costa Rico, make sure to visit Osa one of the few pristine coastal rainforests on the pacific—for now—they are starting to build roads through it, so you will need to visit sooner rather than later if you want to see this rainforest before it is zoned.
