Ireland Trips:

Trips to Ireland are Rich in History!

Ireland is one of the world’s most popular vacation destinations—it has such a rich history is it any wonder that many people flock for Ireland trips each year to take in the countryside and wonderful people who inhabit it?  After all, Ireland is famous for more than its Guinness!  Going to Ireland is something that everybody should do at least once; it is a trip that will stay with you for the rest of your life!

Planning your trip

There are a number of ways to plan your Ireland trips—you can consult a travel agent, call the airlines and hotels yourself or you can visit a travel web portal.  The great part about using one of the many travel web portals that are available (Travelocity, Expedia, etc) is that from that one web site, you can plan your entire trip.  You can book your flights to Ireland, arrange lodging, book a rental car and even find tickets to a few of the local events that might be happening while you are there.  There are also often package deals available for people who want to plan out as fully fleshed an Ireland trip as possible.  If you don’t like winging it, or having to make a ton of phone calls, then using a travel web portal is definitely the way to go.

Sites

Of course when you take your Ireland trips, there are a number of places that you will want to make sure that you don’t miss.  Bunratty Castle and Folk Park are must sees.  Bunratty castle is an Irish tower house and it is in better shape than any of the other examples you can find in the country even though the castle has a violent history.  The Irish National Heritage Park is another must see.  The Irish are very proud of their long and rich history and have done as much as they can to make sure it stays preserved.  The Irish national Heritage Park shows visitors many of the ancient places that were used for homes, rituals and even burials as far back as 7000 BC.

Of course, what Ireland trips would be complete without a trip to see (and kiss) the Blarney stone?  Now largely a tourist attraction, the Blarney stone is over six hundred and fifty years old.  Legend has it that those who kiss it will be given the gifts of eloquence and flattery.  The Blarney Stone can be found at the Blarney Castle, about eight km from Cork.
